What a title you may be saying, the same thing I thought. Truth be said, I wanted to use "P" words that depicted how I was feeling today. I was crying out "please, please, please Lord help me with life".
Not that I haven't been praying and asking for this before, but today I wanted it NOW.
Looking for Patience & Peace
I was trying to work things out and make things happen, crying out "please, please, please, Lord help me with life"

And resolutions are being made. I was asked if I made any, no I said, just picking up from where I left off.
And I'm reflecting on the faithfulness of the Lord. Provided for needs that were part of His needs. Wiped away tears that He wanted to wipe away. Removed those that He wanted removed. Chastised the way that He knew best.
And I'm not going back, I'm moving forward. Nothing, nothing, nothing will stop me from moving closer to the Father. Not divorce, debt, lost of home, strained relationship, nor any emotional issues. Jesus did not turn back from the cross. His Father gave Him amazing strength. Just as He did for me in 2012 and I'm sure He did for you ......

Last Sunday, the title of our Pastor's message was "The Missing Ingredient". As my friend and I were attentively listening to the message our Pastor gave this scripture from Mark 8:35, "For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it". We looked at each other with this "It's a God thing" look because earlier in the week my friend shared this scripture with me. In addition, she read the commentary's notes which said, "To preserve one's life eternally, one must surrender earthly possessions and relationships Held So Dearly".
Are you ...

Is your glass half empty or half full?
Someone who sees the glass as half empty is called a pessimistic and an optimistic as one who sees it half full.
I would like to challenge us to see the glass neither full nor empty, and to fill the rest of the space with God. We are His ambassadors and we must seek His Will and not ours.
A truth that is hard to grasp, even for my son who loves baseball and is playing at a Division I college. I encouraged him to ask God for directions for his life. My son's response, as sincere as he could be was, "I'm not going to do what I don't like."
To that I replied, "God gives us desires (baseball), but the test is what are we ...

Thanksgiving Day has come and gone. It was a time to be "grateful" as my dear Mother has so beautifully incorporated in her conversations. Christmas decorations and neighbor's decorated homes were up before you could say ~ Thank you Father God for your Son Jesus Christ.
But it didn't last long enough!
Then came Black Friday to kick off the Christmas Holiday and many were singing songs like "Silver Bells, Silver Bells It's Christmas time in the city " and "Away in a manger, No crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus Laid down His sweet head". The gifts ...

Ah fresh air, birds chirping, and Walking Mr. Larry!
This time the conversation is about our weights. Walking Mr. Larry is wearing ankle and wrist weights. He explains, that the doctor advised him not to use them while walking, but of course Walking Mr. Larry doesn't listen. I'm using 1 lb hand weights which my doctor advised to build strong upper bones.
Now back to our conversation:
Cynthia: Hi Mr. Larry
Mr. Larry: Hi Cynthia, I see you're using weights. They wouldn't work if you don't use them!
Cynthia: O.K. Mr. Larry, I'll start moving my arms.
As I left Walking Mr. Larry ...

I've seen Walking Mr. Larry for many years. However, we introduced ourselves three months ago. Mr. Larry has a very unusual greeting. Each time that we meet, our greeting would go like this:
Cynthia: Hi Mr. Larry, How are you?
Mr. Larry: I'm reasonable
Cynthia: That's interesting
Mr. Larry: That way I wouldn't become greedy.
I saw Walking Mr. Larry again, this time our ...

Is silence something that you struggle with in prayer?
It is for me. Not only in prayer, but even in normal conversation!
It seems eerie saying nothing.
Steve May, states " Quiet refers to what you hear; silence refers to what you say--or, rather, what you don't say. Many of us think that prayer consists only of talking to God. But there's so much more to it than that. Actually, the most powerful part of our prayer life is the part we spend in silence. Listening. In our silence God can break through to us and change us.
I am in need of so many breakthroughs in my life. What about you?
It's TIME to get silent before the LORD!

What is good thinking?
John C. Maxwell, stated that he has observed that. . .
"Unsuccessful people focus their thinking on survival
Average people focus their thinking on maintenance
Successful people focus their thinking on progress"
Which are you?
God knows but He's not telling, as Gene Edwards likes to say.
Neither am I.
However, I THINK this new usher uniform jacket is very pretty!
What do you THINK?
About Mr. Maxwell's observation, the jacket or both.
