Thanksgiving Day has come and gone. It was a time to be "grateful" as my dear Mother has so beautifully incorporated in her conversations. Christmas decorations and neighbor's decorated homes were up before you could say  ~ Thank you Father God for your Son Jesus Christ.

But it didn't last long enough!

Then came Black Friday to kick off the Christmas Holiday and many were singing songs like "Silver Bells, Silver Bells It's Christmas time in the city " and  "Away in a manger, No crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus Laid down His sweet head".  The gifts that were under the Christmas tree were gone before we could say ~ Thank you Father God for the Magi's gifts of Gold and Frankincense and Myrrh.

But it didn't last long enough!

The New Year is almost here and I challenge us to let this be a year that we see the living God  in amazing ways. Rebecca Hayford Bauer in her book, The 25 days of Christmas-An advent Celebration for the entire Family, shares an amazing practice she does after Christmas. She states, "At the end of the year, I like to spend some time talking to Jesus about the last year and what He wants my vision and goals to be for the coming year. I write all of these down in a letter to Him and review it a year later."

What an amazing practice. So let's take out our pen and pad before the New Year is here and gone and we say to ourselves,

But it didn't last long enough!
